For the want of you

Motivation: Winters happen to be long and springs so short. I am always captivated by the impatient wait for spring and subsequent the changes in the mother nature. This wait, I superimpose with mood of a lover's yearning and voilà! this poem unfolds.

This spring breezes like sea waves;

To offer fresh scent from yonder;

Oh dear! what fragrance it has!

For it shall remind the want of you.

So delicate my heart, like a glass;

I mould it to collect some fragrance

As a souvenir for the want of you.

In an unending journey for your pursuit

My love-smitten heart often rue that

"Oh dear! you are so near, yet so far"

It glitters on me with the blooming dawn;

It creeps upon me until the day is done;

It lingers in my heart, the long night through -

This want of you.

In dreams, my dear!

I await your answer.

Into your deep eyes I stare

For the want of you!

Let bygones be bygones!

This winter too shall pass away.

Here the spring arrives one more time

What remains is the strong want of you.
